Ski Steamboat Springs - Customize your Steamboat Springs ski vacations with Ski.com

Located in northwestern Colorado, cowboy country meets ski country in Steamboat, where Wrangler jeans and big hats are as common as ski jackets and snowboard boots. Steamboat trademarked the name Ski Town, U.S.A.® as a testament to its skiing roots and the generations of Olympic athletes who grew up there. Stroll downtown and you might catch a glimpse of future Olympians soaring off the 90-meter jump at Howelsen Hill. Kids ski free™, and parents will love the generous snowfall (an average of 343 inches a year) and legendary tree skiing. With infinite lodging options, Steamboat offers a truly unique Colorado experience.

Your Steamboat Springs Vacation

One of Colorado’s authentic Old West towns, Steamboat is over 100 years old but modern in every amenity. Ski Steamboat and discover special programs for children and a unique savings program for teens that give Steamboat its family appeal. With close to 3,000 skiable acres, a Steamboat ski vacation package offers every level of terrain and it’s all easy to reach by a vast lift system including the eight-passenger gondola and six high-speed chairlifts.

Steamboat continues to make significant improvements to the mountain, more than $27 million over the past three years. Does Steamboat's famous Champagne Powder™ snow put a smile on your face? If so, you should have a permanent grin plastered there after last year’s record breaking powder season. As we all know, history has a way of repeating itself in Steamboat-Ski Town, U.S.A.®. Ski Steamboat and discover small-town hospitality and friendly service both on and off the mountain.

There are affordable restaurants for every taste- from Norwegian to barbecue smokehouses and post-dinner nightspots to round out the evening. Steamboat’s lodging accommodation choices are as huge as the mountain, everything from family-oriented condominiums to European-style bed and breakfasts.

Steamboat Excellence

Steamboat Springs does a lot for the skiing community that other resorts don't even try. Simply put you will have a great time with the 165 trails to pick from. There is something for all skill and age levels. Tree skiing to groomed runs and several terrain parks to choose from. The ski area is only a 30 minute drive from the Hayden airport...

Steamboat

Overall a good resort. Mountain layout makes it difficult to get around. Lacked mountain ambassadors at the top of lifts to provide guidance and recommendations. Poor trail signs did not provide adequate direction to lifts or on mountain dining. Not much near mountain shopping or restaurants. Hard to get a feel for the base area

Friendly Steamboat

Excellent
I went to Steamboat in 2009 and loved it. I was accompanied by my son and his wife. We all had a great time skiing that year as there was a great deal of new (and old) snow. We went again this January - 2012. The snow was marginal, but the trails were well-groomed and we had a good time with our favorite sport. I injured my knee on the...

Steamboat is still a favorite ski destination for our family!

Excellent
We have skied Steamboat before Gondolas and before Gondola Square. After 18 years, we have returned, and we were not disappointed. The ski slopes have the best wide runs for the beginners, and now offer special attractions for boarders, too. We always enjoyed downtown Steamboat because of the well preserved town. There are still some decent...
